“Opportunities to find deeper powers within ourselves come when life seems most challenging.” Joseph Campbell
I am thrilled to be here in Toronto. It is always challenging to change your "residence" and find one´s way around a new city. But this new situation also gives one an opportunity to have another perspective on life and one´s work. Being foreign is very familiar to me. It helps me be an observer and think outside of the box. Toronto is extremely diverse and full of opportunities. In the studio I am creating a "Magical Dress" that I will share with you soon. We are scheduled to have a show at the end of the month.
Some years ago I lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico and was in a women´s poetry group. This experience inspired me to make a 6 foot dress made of poetry, sand, moss, etc. I just recovered a great video an artist(Cynthia Buzzard) made of me and the other women in the group in a procession with the dress walking down Canyon Road..Enjoy!

Dream Textiles
A collection of pieces I have been working on for the last year is my sewing on silk and textile. The act of sewing here for me is meditative and automatic. I do not pretend to be a textile artisan but I am learning as I go along and I see it more as a personal signature. These wall hangings have words juxtaposed with images. Their transparency and elusiveness may evoke a dreamlike state.
